MT 125 idle speed

Hi,

I have about 25 hours on MT125 TBL. So far it has been an outstanding machine. Quick question for other owners. The lowest mine will idle is between 1280-1310 rpm's. Is this what other owners are seeing? I would think it would go lower, but maybe there is a reason I am not aware of.

About the same for mine with throttle pulled all the way down.

Mine also idled high, at about 1380. Simple adjustment on the idle stop screw and a cable adjustment made it idle around 1100. Gets a little 'shakey' at that rpm, but ok. The manual states to be at 1500 or above when moving or operating. The hydraulics are really slow at the low idle rpm however.

Mine idles at 1300 also. There was a discussion about this a few months ago and the reason that came out for the "high" idle is the three cylinder is inherently rough at idle and 1300 smoothed it out. I too thought it was high but after the discussion I left the adjustment alone and I've certainly gotten used to it idling there. Also at that idle speed you will get minimal hydraulic performance. I think if it was idling slower there would be no dydraulic system movement.
