I'm just starting a net search but thought I would post the problem here...
The saw starts and runs but it runs out of fuel if not held inverted or vertical...should not be a big issue...just never had the saw apart before...any insights from 390 owners?

If it sounds like its loading up on the rich side, I would suspect the float is sticking, or dirt on the needle valve.
If it has has ethanol mixed and sat, you may have to rebuild the carb or replace the carb.
I have mixed pine-sol 3 parts water, 1 part PS, and soaked bike carbs over night with good results, removing all tarnish interior and exterior, and the turpentine doesn't damage the seats, there are your tube vids on before and afters.
Use caution you don't bent the float tabs.
I have never been inside the husky carb, but suspect it's very much like a dirt bike carb, on a smaller scale.

No float inside the carb though.

Thanks for the replies...I also thought it seemed like something sticking so I thumped the saw on the ground a couple of times and though I have not done any cutting with it since...it seems to be running fine again (any position)...who knows...I have always used 100% gas in the saw...maybe I'll add a little Seafoam...
