Mowing Mowing lawn with a BX - Belly mower or Tow behind?

This may be a dumb question - but why would you want to mow 21 acres? Why not just let it grow? Is the acreage used for pasture?

I think a BX would be grossly undersized for mowing 21 acres unless the area in question was pretty flat and the person who was going to do the mowing had a very large amount of spare time on their hands. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

( I do 6.5 acres with a 60" MMM and it takes me about 5 hrs to do. So for her using this set up would be really long. )

Could you pull an off set trail behind mower with the tractor to give you a wider swath?

Wow! Lots of good advice as usual. The replies stirred up the gray matter, making me take a broader look at the situation. Will be traveling to Texas in Feb., and will see the layout for the first time then. Her husband admits to being mechanically challenged, so they asked me to help them look for a tractor of sometype. I'll take a wider look at their total needs and mostly likely run it by this Board again at that time. Thanks all.
