Mower shear bolts breaking

Hey, Bird, you are making me feel bad - I have not mowed a single weed and broke two ! I am sure I must be doing something wrong or there is something wrong with equipment. Oh well, now I have a goal - you have set the standard and I hope to never break another. . . I got new bolts today but just returned from town so won't have time to use for a while, and tomorrow have to move daughter into apartment for college. . .

Does anyone know if Kubota's have soft start on their PTO? If they do and the first solenoid is not operating, that would explain the broken shear pins.

Be sure to engage the PTO with the mower up out of the grass--I had a customer about 10 years back that called us about shearing pins on his new 6 ft cutter before he could get to the field--We made a service run and the machine was setting about in about 5 inches of grass--all we did was raise the lift and engaged the PTO--Problem solved--Ken Sweet
