I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of how they have thier setup for moving trailers. Anyone have it on thier 3pt? I don't think I could put it on my lower hitch because it is a flat trailer and would be too low to the ground and drag. Can you buy a draw bar that goes inbetween the 3 point? It looks like it would move.

Thanks

I'm interested in this as well. My dealer told me about a horizontal drawbar that attaches to the 3pt arms with a stabilizer to keep it from turning. This was over the phone and I've never actually seen it. This is apparently a cheaper alternative to getting a full A-frame box hitch receiver.

Photos anyone?

Something like this attaches between the lower draft arms. You can probably mount a ball to it pretty easily, but I have something similar to the FlexiPoint system available at the TBN Store. There's also a cheaper version that mounts to a drawbar. I've seen people mount hitch balls or 2" receivers to a lot of things, from FEL buckets to tillers - if you can weld the possibilities are endless. Of course, if you plan on moving something heavy you have to be a little more careful of what you choose.

You can get those drawbars to go between the lower links of the 3-point hitch at Northern Tool, Tractor Supply Co., and most tractor dealers (at least in this area). Then you need a drawbar lock or stabilizer to keep it from turning. This one on ebay is just one of many that are available.

Here's what it looks like when you hook up one of those adapters to your 3pt and put it to work.

Yes! When my dealer was talking on the phone about a drawbar lock, I had a tough time imagining what such a thing looked like. Now I understand.

I suspect that in order to use a 3pt drawbar with drawbar lock, you'd better make sure your side adjustment is tight. Any sideways slop will unlock the horizontal drawbar and make it spin.

kvjohndeere -- nice bit of fabrication there. You've got all your options covered to pull whatever you need.

gunmaker -- that photo of JD and big trailer is great!

I have some shots in my picture link below. (I think it can be found on page 3). Anyway, I mounted a recieving hitch on the top rear of the front end loader. Works like a charm and makes the trailer moving and hook up a 10 second job.

Here's the one I made. It may not look pretty but it gets the job done. I threw it together with what I had laying around. Upper ball is for moving gooseneck, lower for all others.
