Occasionally, people ask about moving logs with their tractors. My LK3054xs moved this 14' long by 19" diameter white pine log with zero trouble. Both the FEL and the 3PH lifted an end of the log without a hiccup.

I had plenty of traction to move the log even while going uphill on wet dirt.

Last picture.

The hardest part was figuring out how to wrap the chain so the 3PH could lift the log without letting it roll over.

Once I had the chain hitched up properly, it worked like a charm. Most of the chain you see in the picture is actually excess, which I led into the bucket to keep it out of the way.

That's a pretty neat skidding set up.

I'm having to do a lot of it myself after the storm about a month ago. I still have a couple of downed trees to remove from the pasture although I've got all the ones around the house. Still have the board fence to fix but I'll get that next week, if it ever stops raining.

Can I ask where you got the set up from, was it bought or homemade? I could sure use one but I don't have the time to make one right now.

Good Job! My CK20 will pull them that size too. Who'd have thought it? John

That will not be firewood. I'll manage to turn it into much sawdust and perhaps a couple of boards. Got two more just like it.

Another good example that bigger is not always necessary. I hope aspiring tractor buyers will see this and understand that these smaller tractor can often be all they need. John

Well, I moved three more logs today. The largest was 17' by 22". Again, not even a hiccup from the tractor. I got to try the rear differential lock when one rear wheel started slipping. The lock did the trick and the tractor kept on moving. I even figured out that I was "over engineering" the chain lashing and greatly simplified the way I do it.

The log rig on my 3PH is locally made. I bought it from KiotiDave of Upper Valley Tractor in Enfield, NH.
