Another problem with the 4' mower deck. I swear I'm not abusing the mower!! Just glad they are easy fixes for a welder. This is the right bracket(from driver seat) that broke yesterday. Going to have both brackets reinforced.

Wow, that's a clean break. It looks like the steel cracked when it was bent. I wonder if PT got a batch of bad steel or maybe changed how they bend the brackets? PT needs to know about that.

Think they'll care since the steel is over 5 years old?

Anyways, welded and back in business.

Part of the problem with those pieces, they are bent too tight. A bend has to have a radius. There is probably a formula, but I don't know what it is. Also, it should be bent across the grain, which doesn't look like the case, on these pieces. ?? (can't really tell from the pic.)

I did not realize steel had a "grain"...but in looking closer at the side where the paint is rubbed of I would say if what I'm looking at is a grain, then yes the bend is against it.

The bend should be across the grain, not running with it. So, it sounds OK.
