Okay, so this may or may not belong in this Forum, but I was torn between hydraulics and transportation.
Last fall I bought a 2005 Mitsubushi FG140, which is a 14000GVW (1.5ton) 4X4 truck for use around our farm in northern Idaho. The truck is awesome! It has a 2 speed transfer case and low 1st gear is about 1ft/sec wide open throttle. The downside of that gear ratio is obvious: 64mph top speed
Anyhow, my intention when I bought it was to turn it into a 2-3 dump truck. But I have had problems finding a supplier for the hydraulic pump. The nearest dealer for these trucks is in Seattle, and they have been less than helpful. I am looking for a PTO pump (like Muncie, or Dayton, etc.) that is direct drive from the transmission. I don't want an electric over hydraulic or clutch over fan belt system. I want faster cycle times than I can get with those systems, and I might try using the hydraulics for other applications, In Japan and S. America these trucks actually have aux. hydraulic jacks on them used for various tooling.
Does anyone have one of these trucks or know a good upfitter that might know who to get a pump from. Any info greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Spike (Yes that really is my last name, not a nick-name)
PS- To those ready to Google an FG140 I have attached a photo.
