Mowing middle blade not cutting

I own a Kabota BX2230 with a 60 inch midmount mowing deck. The middle blade keeps stopping when cutting; also makes loude noise. Can anyone help?

Loose blade or grease on belt.

Maybe a spindle freezing up. Some things you just have to check out yourself. Remove the deck, loosen the belt and check for binding, noise, looseness of parts.

... 1st, Have you been greasing the spindle zerks? -- but that would stop all blades if center siezed.

2nd, loose center blade or worn washers on blade bolt.

Time to pull it off and have a good look at the bottom of the mower. You might find the stuff holding the blade in place needs tightening or replacement.

I had this happen on my BX. Loose blade was my culprit.

The center spindle runs directly from the gearbox on a BX mower deck and there is only the one huge sepentine belt that drives the left and right spindles. If the center blade is slipping, it can only be a loose blade. That center blade can be very hard to remove or tighten.

I just had the same thing happen on the center spindle on my BX deck. My attempt to simply tighten the bolt snapped the head of the bolt off. The repair involved drilling out the old bolt, re-threading the hole and a new factory bolt with an additional washer. Tedious work.

See if the bolt is simply loose on yours but don't repeat my mistake and over-tighten it. If the bolt is tight and the blade still slips, remove the bolt and add a washer.

I once had a compactor that worked for 20 sec and then stop working......checking the wobblebox it was free ......finnily found the problem.......freeplay on the bearings was not enough .
