MF1533 Fuel Problem

My 1533 has begun to act like it is starving for fuel when under load. I checked the fuel filter but there was very little trash there...changed it anyway. The problem hasn't changed after replacing filter. The diesel fuel is less than a month old. Any ideas on what the problem might be and what I might check next?

Im not familiar with the injection pump on the MF 1533, but on my MF 1040 I usually change the oil in the injection pump once a year. Do you have similar maintainance on your machine ?

I do not see any documentation in the operator instruction book on servicing the injector pump.

The 1533 pump gets lubed by the engine sump so you don't have oil to change there. Sounds like you may have a fuel supply problem. Trash in the tank, kinked fuel line maybe.

a friend of mine had the same problem and the fuel line on the inside came apart. and slowed the fuel alittle. try the fuel line

I have a 1533 that will run good when I first use it then all of a sudden it will lose power and it will either quit or just idle i`ve drained the tank changed the filter still does the same thing . checked filter while running filter was full held the throttle down in a couple of seconds you can watch the fuel level drop in the filter then the tractor would lose power shut the tractor off and watch the filter fill up start it up runs fine until filter drains again it sucking the fuel out faster then it runs in even through it has a fuel restrictor in the line any ideas thanks

Mine is doing the same. How do you fix it???? Please help. If I clamp the return line to the tank near the injectors the bowl will stay full, and the tractor runs but this is not a fix.

I had a similar issue with mine and finally found a small piece of foil from an additive bottle that would settle over the tank outlet hole. What a nightmare

Yep, had that on a semi 40 years ago. The foil from a fuel treatment bottle was floating around the tank. Sometimes it stayed completely clear of the fuel standpipe, sometimes it got sucked partially onto the standpipe, now and then it covered it completely. Shut off the engine and it dropped off. Rinse and repeat. The lower the fuel level, the more often it happened. Took most of a year to discover it.
I spotted it by lowering a small light bulb into the almost-empty tank. There the little bugger was.

I have read of bottle seals being found in fuel tanks and engine oil, but no first hand experience. I am now very conscious of the potential issue.
