MF135 temperature sender unit

My 135's temp gauge has been disconected and I'm struggling to find the sender unit on the block. Can anyone give me rough directions as to where I might find it?

I changed my temp sending unit along with my fuel sending unit today. Temp unit still doesn't work. If I short the middle terminal and the driver side terminal behind the gauge, the gauge goes full temp. If I short the wire at the sending unit to ground (as the shop manual says) I get nothing.

Anyone have similar issues? Is there a temp specific fuse? My shop manual says little else. Only reason I know where to find the sending unit is from this thread.

My temp guage sending unit was cut off when I bought it, about 3 inches from the send unit where it screws into the head. Didnt have time to wait on finding a factory replacement, so I installed an "off the shelf" temp guage and sending unit. It seems to function ok, dont know how long it will hold up in the long run. The only wires on it are for the light.

G'day run a new wire on the outside of the loom and test it sounds to me like a broken wire

The wire from the sending unit to the gauge is good. I tested it with an ohm meter.
