The PT board is pretty slow these days..... and the weather here is rain turning to snow so I won't be using mine for awhile either. NOT enough to plow for us, and too muddy to do anything else.

But MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all and have fun plowing the white stuff if you are "lucky" enough to do that! (I'm thinking of "Lichen Lane", or "Bog Court" or "Moss something-or-other", can't quite remember).

Did'nt have power for 12 days due to the ice storm. Spent 3 of them on the chain saw cleaning up downed trees and limbs. Athough unsafe, standing on the roof of the ROPS made some of the pruning tasks easyier. Playing in the snow with the 425 was the only way to maintain my sanity. Luckily we are back on line now. Its all good though, the wife bought me a generator for Christmas!

Did the generator sit under the tree while the power was out? Merry Christmas to all.

With 60-degree temperatures in Southeastern Virginia, we got in a little seat time moving some mulch early on Christmas Eve. Our son is home for the holiday and is always willing to help. He's a natural on all machines.

It would be great to get some snow.

Merry Christmas to all.

Beach - is that muffler an upgrade you came up with. My biggest complaint with my PT is the noise. Is that quieter than the orginal, where did you get the parts? Any help would be appreciated. Doug

That is a 5-inch super-trapp muffler with a 6-inch resonator. I bought the muffler from Jack's online small engine parts (I can't remember the cost). I had a local shop weld the pipe for $20. ... Much quieter.

I agree, ... an even quieter solution would be worth the money.

I have done a little reading on some of those electric conversion forums, and I think the PT would be a pretty easy conversion. Being it's all hydraulic, all you have to do is drive the pumps with electric motor instead of gas or diesel. Unlike a car the weight of batteries would be a plus. I need my PT to much to start experimenting with it but if I could find an old one cheap I think I would give it a shot. Can you imagine a silent PT at work?

Hee hee. Merry Christmas to you, too. :D

We have had icy, rainy, snowy, windy, snowy, rainy, icy again for about a week. Pretty yucky. But a great Christmas despite all that. :) tonight and tomorrow it is supposed to climb up to the 50s. The road drains are all plugged with ice. The city ran out of money for salt, so they have been sanding, which will plug up the drains further, so we should have floods in two days! ;)
