Kinda what I was thinking - dodged a Darwin Award. But the article doesn't tell if he was drugged, drunk or some poor dude with Alzheimers or such. Best not to judge without more information, JMO. Whatever; sure glad I wasn't driving the combine.

I was wondering if he had his hair done in corn rows and that is why the operator didn't see him.

At least he wasn't seriously injured so we can joke.

The article said the farmer thought he had ran over a post or irrigation pipe... the header would have already been passed the man..so how did he get in the header??

I thought the same thing. All I can think is that the header moved on one end. The person writing the article probably has no clue what a combine looks like.

Gee Im with you on that one !!! I mean thats a bit of a stretch isnt it ???

The last time I was in a corn patch this summer was my Uncle Daves' and I was also about three rows in, but after I saw what the bears did in that section, I got my corn and got out ! I surely wasnt takin any naps...

Good point. I've yet to hear a talking head type who didn't call everything large & yellow a "bulldozer" so a combine would be completely foreign territory too. Could be the guy got run over by a manure spreader.
