Just a speculative thought here - has anyone tried creating a mid-mount blade for the BX? I notice that big highway graders have their blade in the middle, and it seems to me that naturally removes irregularities in the ground being graded. In contrast, a blade at the front or rear of a vehicle will accentuate the irregularity, unless there is continuous adjustment by the operator. Since a BX can take a MMM, how about a MMB?

Considering the ground clearance of a BX, it won't be much of a blade

And with the very short wheelbase it would not be as effective as you think...

John Deere has one available for the X700 series, and it might be worth a look to see how they set it up on a very similar sized tractor. It always sounded like a good idea to me too.

You could actually buy a mid mount "grader" blade for the old IH Cub Cadet garden tractors. I had one and sold it about a month or so ago. So as far as "not being much of a blade", I think that is irrelevant as a small Kubota will actually have a few more inches of ground clearence than the old Cubs had. I think for really doing precise dirt work it is the only way to go. A mid mount blade is typically not intended to move large amounts of material, but rather "grade" an area to a certain level. I'd love to see pics of what you come up with. Go for it.

Interesting! The John Deere blade mentioned by ChuckInNH looks like just the thing John Deere BA20784 60" MID BLADE and it looks like I should have searched the archives, since this has come up before http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/46626-bx-mid-mount-grader-blade.html . I also found someone who recently was making a similar item http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=65351 but he may no longer be in business since his web site appears to be gone. Too bad, at $275, if it could be made to fit the BX I'd buy one.
