I think Mahindra should stand behind the junk backhoe's they sell with their Tractors! I have a 3215 with 3710 hoe with less than 400 hrs. Broke the 3rd plastic weak link piece in joystick control last evening. This hoe was greased probably more than normal, but pins and bushings (if there's any there?) are shot????? Complete joystick control units are also shot! Love the tractor but these hoes are junk

Can you take a picture of this weak plastic piece. I have a 3710 hoe and I don't know what joy stick you are referring to. Thanks, Bob.

I'm thinking of taking new one I have to machine shop and see what it would cost to get 4 made out of metal

I am not clear if you are slamming Mahindra for not selling each individual part for your tractor/backhoe or just ticked because to fix it costs more than you think you should spend? I priced a fan switch for my 2002 Ram 2500 diesel. In the old days, the fan switch would be a few bucks and it was easy to replace. Now, I have to pay $198 for the whole air conditioning 3 switch module and rip out the whole dash. How old is your tractor. Small plastic pieces tend to dry out and crack out. Get one made out of teflon. It is self lubricating.
So what is this about the pins and bushings being shot and probably greased more than normal? Sounds like someone else does the maintenance. What type of grease is it? Excess grease attracts and traps dirt. Are all the pins and bushings worn, or just the swing bushings or the boom pivot bushings? Isolated wear usually indicates abuse. Is this rig doing the work a bigger machine should be doing?

I'm not keen on the idea of plastic parts in a hydraulic valve either. I can't speak to the bushings and such but in a valve bank is just waiting to fail, IMHO.

My guess is OP's comments about the bushings is frustration showing through. Of course, if I broke my 3rd plastic joystick part, I'd be frustrated, too.

I do agree, however, with realizing that smaller hoes have to be made lighter and aren't made to do the things larger hoes are made for.

(But plastic parts in the hydraulic valve bank still bothers me) <-- Did I say that already ;)
