Does anyone have some up close photos of the underslung/down swept exhaust piping on an M7040SU?

Just curious, have to clear a low door and the vertical stack has to be removed, it's just a straight piece of pipe so I can put a shorter one on it, but wanted to see the factory set up.

Delete. Attachment didn't work. Sorry.

OOPS, maybe it did! Look about 3/4 of the way down the parts diagrams.

I'll try and remember to get a few pics of my m9540 tomorrow. Should be very similar if not exact same set up.

Looks like the entire muffler is different, the one I am looking at is one piece and points UP. I am guessing the factory version uses a totally different muffler.

Like Derek, I'm not sure this will help you. I modified my vertical stack to the down mode. I used the parts from the upright stack to build what I needed to make it a horizontal or lower.

Found these pics on Tractorhouse of a m7040d. Not sure if there is a difference between the "d" and "su" exhaust wise.

*For some reason the tbn app crashes if I try to add more than one pic at a time so I'll have to make a few separate posts.

Thanks DT86 and ovrszd.

Might see if I can either do a couple of 90's to point down, or just get a straight pipe a few inches shorter than the factory one (it's about 5" too long and I don't want to cut it.......)
I don't want to modify the "normal" exhaust since I am fine with the upright pipe most of the time. It's only in the low door for the winter, but still has to come out for use.

I don't recall my elbow being welded on. Memory says it was clamped. Anyway, removed it and used a piece of the vertical pipe to build the sweep I wanted.

I think once you convert it you will not go back to the vertical pipe. I am never smelling exhaust fumes. Only time I even know it's there is if the tractor is running and I spend more than a few seconds at the chain box which is just above where the pipe dumps.

Not sure how handy it would be to go to a muffler shop??? But I'm guessing for $20 they'd build you a sweep for low exhaust. Then you could clamp your elbow back on if you wanted vertical again.
