Much obliged bb! Also found a 2001 M9000 at what I think is a decent price, about half of the new 7040 w/ more hp andfairly low hours, three remotes.Any thoughts?

You will really like the three remotes.

Two years running an M7040 also with cab absolutely love it get the ag tires and filled, get the CI hubs rear and get wheel CI weigths to provide stability 4 wheel drive is the way to go as well Use of rear counter weights will make it light footed in the front and is recommended to ease the wear and tear on the front end also I would get the air suspension seat for comfort

No maintenance issues at all. We use ours quite a bit - only a year old or so and have over 400 hours on - 95% loader work. Handles really well, good turning radius as was suggested and lifting capability.

My M5700 has no problem with round bales on FEL and 3 point. even with just a bale on the FEL and nothing on the 3 point it does not feel like it is unbalanced. No issue on rough ground either. Can barely tell it has a load. I do have r4's don't know if that helps or not. I can't imagine the tractor your looking at not doing even better.

Recently I went shopping for a M7040 but bought a New Holland instead. Though I liked the 7040, Kubota is not offering cash incentives while NH if offering very good cash incentives.

For about the same money, I got more HP, twice as many gears, better hydraulics, much more weight and a few other options. I would look over the specs of the T40xx series side by side with the 7040, find what suits you and call around for pricing.

Okay, you piqued my curiosity. You say you bought a NH T4050 16x16 power shuttle with 80 PTO HP and Supersteer for about the same price as the Kubota M7040 and you got cash back? What other options did you get? That sounds like quite a deal, can you provide more details?

My dealer sells both NH and Kubota. The T4050 Deluxe that I bought was on the lot and he had it for several months, though it is a 2009 model.

The T4050 Deluxe comes with a cab, which I did not really want. I was looking for a M7040 Kubota open station but simply could not pass up the deal that I was offered on the T4050, cab or otherwise. The T4050 also has Supersteer, which I definitely did want for maneuverability. I drove a T4030 without Supersteer but it would not turn closely enough for me, nor would it turn as closely as the M7040, which has vertical pinions rather than CV joints. This is the feature that initially attracted me to the Kubota.

My T4050 also has dual remotes, a mid mount valve with joystick, and the tractor was advertised with a "free radio." I was not looking for a radio but it retails for around $300 so I took it rather than taking the significantly lower dealer cost deduction that I could have taken.

I also bought a front weight package (6 weights and bracket), 4 rear weights, arm rests, dual outside mirrors, an 820TL FEL with third function loader valve and a Kasko snow/material blade for the FEL.

Ignoring the FEL and blade, my dealer told me that he could not spec out a 62 HP M7040 with cab for the price that I paid for the 80 HP T4050 with weights, radio, third function loader valve, arm rests, mirrors, etc.

The current NH incentives expire on 11/30 but nearly everyone expects that they will be replaced with new incentives that are at least as attractive.

It is my understanding that Kubota offers attractive financing terms, similar to those offered by NH but no cash incentivevs, while NH offers either one or the other (not both). I took the cash as discount against the price and wrote a check.

I have a '07 M7040. I abuse it. Rough ground and steep hills. Dragging, bushhogging, lifting, digging, etc. This tractor hasn't missed a lick. I follow all recommended maintenance and check it after each usage. I've had no problems. It starts, runs and works without any fuss. It will do an amazing amount of work. You will need weight in the rear wheels. I use ethanol. I also suggest tubeless tires for ease in repairing punctures on the go.
