I just ordered my Hyd Top Link and hose kit from CC&M and had a question about what if any additional fittings I will need to attach the top link hoses to my Kubota factory rear remote?

The hoses are coming with Pioneer Couplings if that helps.

Thanks!

Well, my BX is a long ways from your M but when I made up my own HTL, I had to get these quick connects as the Kubota factory female QC on the tractor were not standard, nor pioneer I believe. Try doing a visual of these against your FEL QC's.

I was just curious, but never having had a hyd top link, how do you plan to use it? What implements do you use that the top link will improve their function? I have a M-6800 and was wondering if this is something I would find useful. What did you pay for this? Sorry to answer your question with another question, so hopefully someone else will have the answer that you need. Thanks!

I installed a HTL on my B 7510 for a few reasons..

1. ease of hooking up to different implements!!!!!!!!!! ( I can reach my control when hooking up, not sure if you can with a large tractor)
2. Allows more or less down pressure so to speak with my york rake and grader blade. Especially the rake when used with the gauge wheels.
3. when retracted, raises my implements further off the ground when loading on my trailer.
4. more flexability with my log splitter, fine tuning level. I hated having to kep turning the turnbuckle..

The biggest reason is so when using my 8' rotary cutter or 7.5' finish mower I can just use the factory rear remote to adjust the top link and not have to get in and out of the cab to adjust the top link.

Sorry I don't know anything about your question, but I have a question for you. I just got an '08 M5040 with cab and am trying to find out if the freeze plug closest to the cab is threaded or not. There is a block heater in that hole on mine, but it's dripping anti-freeze. On the first white page in the manual (page 1 of Servicing of Tractor), there is the "Tractor identification plate" illustration. In that drawing they show the last freeze plug (right over the dipstick) with a hexagon in the center, where the others are just circles. This makes me think it might be threaded. I can't tell by looking at the tractor, since the block heater is already installed. Thanks in advance and good luck with your question.

ISO 7241-1B Hydraulic Quick Disconnects

Thanks for the info.

I just received my Hyd Top Link along with some 1/4 Hoses with one end Male the other Female, and the Pioneer coupling which of course does not fit my factory remote.

It looks like I will ned to get a double Male fitting to connect the hoses to the Top Link, and then try and figure out what I need to do to connect the hoses to the Factory Rear Remote Coupling........or replace the factory rear remote coupling?

Did you remove the Kubota factory installed Female coupling from your remote and then install the Quick disconnects in your link?

I guess I need to find out just what I need to do to get this hooked up and working.

I hope my dealer can assist in at least telling my what type/size fitting I will need to get this to work with my factory remote.

Hydraulic top link is SUPERBLY handy.

  1. Adjust angle of attack for rear hay fork from the seat
  2. Adjust angle of attack for box blade from seat
  3. lengthen/shorten top link to make hooking up 3ph implements sooooo easy. I fabricated a PVC pipe connection and joint running the rear window of my cab so I can adjust top link while hooking things up.
I used a regular hydraulic cylinder, fabricated connectors for attachment to tractor 3ph top and to the implement. It is actually a MUST HAVE add-on, IMHO. Very worth the cost.

Stu,

So you have quarter inch lines and one has a male pioneer end and the other a pioneer female end? I'm not sure what you mean by getting a double male end.

Any way, here's a pic of my remotes and set up. When I installed the tractor remotes I noted that they were Snap Tite 72 series branded female couplers. I went to the dealer and they figured I'd need two 1/4" male quick connects for the hose ends for the HTL. The male ends I needed were the ones I linked to above. They are compatible with the ISO 7421-1B standard. I did get mine from the dealer but for over $12 per male end. I'm sure your dealer could get what you need, but if you wanted to save a few $$ you could order two male ends from Discount Hydraulic hose. If you're lines are 1/4", then you'd need QC's with 1/4" NPT female ends to thread onto the 1/4" hose.

On the other hand, if you're dealer is close enough, it's probably easiest to just bring the HTL and hoses in and they should be able to give you the correct male QC's for a factory M remote setup. But, again, they should be the same as the type I linked to.

Chris,

The 1/4" line has the threaded Male end for the Pioneer fitting, the other end is threaded Female fitting to connect to the Top Link fittings which are also Female.... hence the double Male fitting.

The difficult part will be connecting to the Factory Remote fittings..... they don't appear to be your typical quick-disconnect type... they don't have the sleeve to pull back.... kinda hard to describe....

I will probably just go ahead and take the top link and hoses to the dealer and ask them to assist in either providing me with the correct fittings, or tell me what I need to get to be able to attach to the factory rear remote fitting.

I'll try and get a pic or 2 tomm of the factory rear remote to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
