M Series Creep Speed, no power allowed?

Knock on wood but I haven't broken anything in creep yet and I've got 2 M9000s. I can't remember hooking onto anything hideously nasty in creeper either, but my manual does say to be careful. I usually only use it for hooking up equipment or positioning something expensive that's dangling from the loader though. Can't say what everybody else is doing with creeper when I'm not watching though. When towing something that's stuck I usually run out of traction before needing a slower gear than what's available in the regular low range though.

BTW, that Fendt video was pretty impressive. Especially with the duals spinning cresting the top of that hill. Wonder how many acres he can do in an hour??

"Creep speed cannot be used for any of the following:
1. Pulling a trailer.
2. Front-loader operation.
3. Earth Moving.
4. Entering or leaving a field.
5. Loading onto and unloading from a truck."

Can anyone give any insights into why "Entering or leaving a field" would be a problem in the creeper gear? Seems silly to me. What kinds of stress could that possibly cause that would be a problem? And loading onto and unloading from a truck! Why is that a problem? Unless you have a buried stump chained to the drawbar as you're leaving a field or loading it onto a truck I don't see how these activities should stress anything!

I want to use the creeper gear for a front mount snowthrower. Do you think that would be a problem?

I doubt it on a front blower, but if you are talking L-series, I don't think you can add a front pto and creep speed. Someone correct me if they know different.

The subject line is M-series, so I assume he was talking about them. M-series don't come with a front-mounted PTO, but there are aftermarket suppliers that sell front 3pt hitches for M-series tractors. Creep isn't a problem but the FEL subframe gets in the way I was told.

I was interested in this subject a while ago and talked to a sales rep, but other manufacturers' (if any) setups may be different. Can't remember offhand the name of the company that offered it though. They had a booth at the Moncton, NB farm equipment show two or three years ago.

I'm really talking about a gl3240. Sorry about that! I should have made that clear. There seems to be very few tractor owners that have the creeper gear so information/experience is hard to come by. So I'm assuming if the creeper gear isn't very robust on the M-series the creeper on the GL-series would be similar and would have the same use restrictions.

I bet its a safety warning so theyre covered if you climb off and open and close the gate as the tractor drives itself thru. As for strength, I would not knowingly buy a tractor that could not spin its wheels harmlessly in good ground at creeper speed. I would assume you would only run into a driveline strength problem if you more than doubled the weight on the traction wheels.

My L4200 Kubota has creep I loose traction well before I am loading ANY part of the drive train. I can稚 imagine what you could possibly do using creep speed that where you can get enough traction that any of this would be an issue.

Has anyone heard of an actual problem with broken creep gears?? KennyV
Thou I rarely use it, I知 glad it痴 there, it is handy. My 4200 is a GL and I still wonder like my question, over two years ago. Has anyone heard of an actual problem with broken creep gears?? KennyV

I agree with that statement. Here's a related thread from a few months ago.

Sounds like there is some kind of weakness in the creeper gear itself. I don't really understand it. All I can imagine is the gear is such a small diameter compared to the diameter of the shaft it is mounted on that the gear can be cracked in two.
