LX288

I'm looking at a 2001 JD LX288, 54" convertible deck, PowerFlo Blower and 2 bin rear bagger. The tractor is a one owner, dealer maintained, everything is in pristine condition, lite use, engine runs great, everything is tight, no hour meter. Dealer trade in, just serviced.

Dealer is asking $2000. Good deal or not?? Thanks

I have an LX 188 and it has been great. Very few problems other than worn belts.

The LX 288 is the follow-on to the 188, and I have never heard anything negative about them. Can't help you on the price, but if it is in great shape, I think that could be a fair price.

You will love the water cooled engine. Very quite, plenty of power, easy to start, etc.

Thanks for the reply Bob. The 288 has an air cooled engine. You may be thinking about the LX 279 which was liquid cooled.

Yep, you are right about it being air cooled. I always get confused on the follow-on to the LX 188. Sorry about that.
