Lubing FEL

I am not sure if you are keeping the caps snapped on to each other when the FEL is attached. I just keep the male & female caps connected. When I remove the loader, the outside may have dust on it, but the insides are clean and (still) oily from the last time they were detached.

I would advise against WD-40, as it will dissolve grease and oils. It also evaporates pretty quickly, leaving a dry slippery residue, which is great for closet door hinges, but not what is called for in industrial equipment lubrication. Your best bet is to use grease of some kind, even if its not moly. I agree with the moly being pretty messy, so I have switched to multi-purpose lithium. I believe the first 30 hours of use (before I stopped using moly grease) worked the moly into the metal surfaces pretty good.
