3-Point Hitch LS mt125 3 point "update"

   / LS mt125 3 point "update" #41
That's what I was just looking at. The turnbuckles hit the PTO shield keeping the arms from fully clearing. Being under a fresh warranty, I'm not sure I want to get into safety features. Thought crossed my mind though to notch the shield for clearance for those turnbuckles.

Question remains, will they interfere with leg room when the seat is turned around?

just take the shield off and store it on a shelf. its what i did because I was having issues getting some of my older shafts to connect...

The initial issue discussed in this thread was the easy removal and installation of the 3point hitch components (or difficulty to actually do so). The early MT125's that were sold (early 2017) had an issue on tractors that had the backhoes. You had to take off a rear wheel in order to slide a large rod through the frame, through the 3 point lower link, then through the 3 point stabilizer tubes. If you wanted the BH back on, you had to reverse the process. A lot of work if you switched frequently between the BH and other attachments. This thread was about the "fix" that LS designed. For the early 2017 owners, this "kit" was available to correct the aforementioned problem. The kit made it possible to remove or install the 3 point components in about 3-5 minutes.

All of the late 2017 tractors and, of course, the 2018's come with this new design. No need to order anything.

Well, I just got mine and it has the problem, but I don't know when it was manufactured.

I'll be looking at pulling the PTO shield which make it kind of difficult to connect the PTO to begin with. That may solve two problems as long as it doesn't create a safety issue.

I got it on, but it's a Major Payne to be sure. I have less than a half inch of clearance on either side with the BH raised enough to get the bottom pins over the hooks. Everything has to be lined up exactly right to be able to do it. Had to pull the shroud to be able to even get close. Dealer says he can get me the kit for under $50. I may go that way yet, but for now, I'll try to find a better way to hold the arms up. What you see is just temporary for testing.

nice work. How long does it take you to swap?

also noticed you are in the rain and your joystick boots are loose fitting. seal them up really good with some PL black roofing urethane. Other wise you will end up like the rest of us and have rusty valves

loaders and BH only have 1 year warranty...

I took delivery of a new MT125 TLBM back in August. I had spent a great deal of time researching this purchase. The only real flaw I found with the tractor was the three point hitch attachment arrangement. I decided since there were rumors of a factory fix it was time to pull the trigger. My tractor was delivered with the "Old" attachment system not the "Update". The tractor/loader I had tested at the dealership had the "Update" so I assumed mine would too. I was disappointed when it arrived with the "Old" setup. When things slowed down at work and home I went to the dealer intending to buy just the new lower links, shorten the shaft and remove the bushings from the brackets. When I went to the parts counter the lady remembered me from when we had been introduced during the delivery process. I explained what I wanted to order and she found the part right away. She then called the service manager and explained what was going on. He went out and looked at the unit he had in stock and it too had the "Update". He was concerned about me modifying the tractor and risking voiding the warranty. After additional discussions he said he would contact the factory and either the dealership or the factory would supply the "Update" to me at no charge. Three weeks later the "Kit" arrived, I took it home and installed it and returned the original parts to the dealership as agreed. Problem solved.

Good deal! When I found out about the update, I also called the dealer. After some negotiations with LS, they also supplied the kit to me without cost. Much, much easier to take off the 3 pt now. Also no arms to get in the way! I have 162 hrs on mine now, no other issues.

For some reason I couldn't get the kit without paying, so I just leave the arms on full time now. They lift up and out of the way enough to get the BH on and off. Did have to pull the PTO shroud, which I'd still like to modify somehow so I could put it back on.

Gentlemen, on page 4 of this thread is how I purchased two "pins" for a total of $30 and modified my parts to put on my factory arms in the "new factory configuration". About an hours worth of work, some spray paint and I have the new factory setup on my tractor. Check it out as I posted pictures too.
