3-Point Hitch LS mt125 3 point "update"

Just not getting the point of all this, I just fold up my 3 point and leave it on the tractor when I put the back hoe on. Some days I have the hoe on and off 3 times a day switching with the box blade, landscape rake, and back hoe . no problem at all and only takes a few min to do.

Do you just fold the lower arms up between the frame? I figured the top link would come off, but don't the arms interfere with anything?

Now that's a really interesting question here. Install the lower three point arms and forget it?

Well "LSmt125owner" this subject just gets more interesting. My local big New Holland Dealer just got in a nice selection of the "New Holland" Workmaster 25S and extremely interesting to look over. The original LS MT125 is truly the factor special as the trim package is much nicer on our tractors but they are truly identical with the Workmaster 25S! They had one there with the backhoe on it like my tractor and they also had a couple of the tractors that were NOT setup for the backhoe. But here is where it gets interesting............ They had their 3 point hitches mounted up and the "NEW" hitch mount was factory installed and I could see all the parts mounted up and in place. The bottom line is all I need to do to install this on my tractor is buy the two "pins" #40369516 and cut my original long bar that we have to take a tire off and install and I'm almost home free. I need to take the lower hitch brackets off and cut the outside welds to slip out the bushings that LS put in there. What I find interesting about his is they had to INSTALL those bushings and weld them in place to make that lousy design work. So for a total of $38 and my friends milling machine to cut the bushings and welds out of the way I can modify what I have to the new design.

Here are some pictures of what I saw today.

If you look closely you will see the "spacer" that we with backhoe's don't need. Also "LS mt125owner" could you measure and give us the length of your new pin so I don't have to cut and fit? In my opinion for $38 and a little work I can have the completely new redesigned hitch.

Gotta love our LS tractors.

Yes, it's a pretty neat set up when installed. Takes me under 2 minutes to tack off the whole assembly. Your idea is absolutely correct... Get the "pins", drill out the sleeves, and cut the shaft...your good to go. I went out and measured the shaft. It is exactly 13 1/2" long.:D

For me the point of updating my three point hitch is to update my tractor to the latest and greatest idea's. I do not have any three point implements except a receiver hitch that I want to make a "heavy hitch" out of for the counter weight. But I love do the modifications and upgrades as that is part of the fun for me of owning this machine.
Just one persons thoughts on the question.

Mr. "LSmt125owner", I appologize I didn't not thank you sooner for going out to your tractor and pulling the bar and measuring it for me. That was very nice of you to provide that information so fast. Monday I will order the "pins" and when they come I'll do the full modification and of course publish pictures of the finish product. Thanks for your help, thanks for driving your dealer to get the parts for you and thanks for sharing all the information with the rest of us.

Best regards,

Lisa
