Love my Kioti,BUT.......

Yes I love my DK40,aside from the previously discussed shoddy fel workmanship it's been pure joy.
Now comes the "BUT" part....Yesterday I plunked down $65 for a shop manual,has anyone seen one of these jokes??
Every page has misspelled,misused,misinterpeted words it makes it really hard to follow,not to mention made up words i.e. drain the "mission"fluid... think they mean transmission,but who knows.The manual is full of this sort of stuff,for pete's sake you mean to tell me they did'nt proof read the [censored] thing?
All I need is my John Deere owning brother in law to stop by when I'm working on it and see this thing(manual)and the fun will begin(his fun).
Man what were the Kioti people smoking the day they issued this beauty?It's a horrible reflection of a great machine.
Well gotta go and check the nut on my steering whool(not making this up).......Mike

Mike,
I also have the shop manual,and parts manual for my DK35.
I have also noticed the same things in my owners manual.
My poor spelling may be the reason I have no problem reading theirs.

Do you mean to tell me that there is misspelled words in the manual and I thought I knew how to spell (as long as I have spell checker). I agree they should look at the editing. Not something that didnt happen to the first Kubota manuals as far as I can remember. Correct me if I'm wrong. You would think Kioti USA would edit the manuals and print them here.

It sounds like they translated it from Korean, and thier translator wasn't the best with English.

Yes, I did buy the factory service manual. It is just like you decribe. I work in an aerospace machining company that has three cells with 2 horizontal machining centers in each with 16 pallets per cell. Each cell is worth just under 2 million dollars. They are made buy Mori Seiki with Fanuc controls, a very respected Japanese company. However, the manuals for both the Mori and Fanuc read just the same as the Kioti manuals. Its just not very good translation work and its sure not limited to Kioti.

Although the Kubota manuals are better, they still have a hard time with the translation. I have seen alot worse, It just seems there isn't much priority for getting them right.

Don't feel bad. My Mitsubishi Cub Cadet came with a manual translated from Japanese to English. It contains quite a few incomplete and incoherent sentences.

It gets worse,I just got my owners manual(came late) and it actually has operating instuctions in reverse ie engaging the fwd,and of course all the other fore-mentioned stuff.
I like the parts about draining the old oil "perfectly"or changing the tire in the shade or reading the "trachometer"or even changing a burnt-out fuse blink.
Did I miss the Village Idiots Convention?becuse I think I have one of the programs from it.........Mike

How were the instructions/whatever that came with your tractor as far as assembly (I seem to remember you bought a crate DK40)? Sufficient or a disaster?

BTW, this is the 1000th post in the forum. Pretty cool..

I am looking at the Chinese crate Jinmas because I have a very limited budget and I am kinda handy (I'm building my own house which explains the limited budget and indicates the handiness level). I saw that you bought a crated Kioti. I didn't know that was possible. If they are somewhat similarly priced I would prefer to get a Korean tractor than a Chinese one. Any help or advise would be appreciated.
