Tractor
1966 John Deere 110, 1964 International Cub
Hello and thanks for having me! I'm working on a 1966 John Deere 110 lawn tractor that I recovered from a house we purchased. I replaced the battery, fuel filter, drained the tank and lines, and got her up and running- albeit a little rough.

She cut out on me and I'm not even getting clicks from the solenoid- I'm thinking I blew the mainline fuse, but am having trouble figuring out where it's located. Has anyone replaced this and can point me in the right direction so I don't take apart more than I need to?

See if you're getting voltage to the control wires on the solenoid. It's possible the solenoid has failed. If you're not getting voltage there back track to the ignition / starter switch. Do not assume it's a fuse. Sometimes starter switches fail.

Yes, starter switches fail. When I got my Dad's JD 110 lawn tractor from my brother, it wouldn't start either unless I held it in the start position. As soon as it went to the run position it quit. Replaced the switch and it ran but, it had a couple other issues that caused it to not have enough power to mow. Like carb was somewhat plugged and points were so far out of adjustment I was surprised it even ran.
