Looking for governor help

I have a tafe 35DI. It will fire right up ,but runs wide open , the only way to kill it is to turn the deisel fuel off. How can I fix this problem. Or find a mechanic to fix it for me. I live in lagrange, Georgia.

If the fuel has been crap everything is stuck inside pump can try putting Techron in it and let run awhile
But if it has been that way awhile need pull cover and try
And clean it up or send out pump
Unless you have a linkage problem
Is it manual kill or does it have solenoid looks like old massy 240

Im not as smart as Dman but I would say check the linkage. And pay close attention to the lever that goes to the governer. If it’s visible. Just my 2 cents worth

I rebuild them.. the gov is only half the problem..
It’s likely the rack is stuck wide open possibly from a stuck plunger..
It’s really nothing to fool with. It’ll end up costing more money if u monkey with it..
It takes me HOURS to clean one up.. I’ve spent as much as 4 hours, just cleaning up the governor..and associated parts.

Well I can sure you that I know next to nothing about an injector pump. And you have a wonderful trade as well as a respected trade. It wasn’t anyone replying to the posted and I simply told him the best I knew. Sometimes if you just get someone back at it they fix it. I have a vintage d2 cat dozer that has sand interesting pump and rack system on it. The governor is mounted to the pump, so I wonder what triggers it. At my age I still thrive to work on this stuff
