Looking for a LG

I would like to get a very sturdy diesel riding mower or small tractor. Used is fine, maybe better. I want it to mow around the house, pull a cart and chain harrow.

At first blush, a JD 455 Diesel HST with a 60" mower would fit the bill. I see low hours ones for ~$5K. Is that a good choice? Anyone know what engine is in there?

What other models should I look for?
I am not in a hurry, I just want to keep my eyes peeled for a good deal...

The Simplicity Legacy is available in a diesel, but finding a used one could be difficult. Also, Cub used to make a diesel version of their large super garden tractor but I don't recall the model number.

All JD LGs use a 3 cyl Yanmar engine. I don't know if they use different engines or not. There are other diesel JD models also. The older 332s are outstanding machines. They are the same as the 318 with a better motor. I think they can be had for $3k. I think the 355 is diesel also. The 455 is a very good choise. $5k seems like a good price for one in good condition.

I was quoted a price of $6300 for a new Kubota (I think 1860) earlier this year. It also seemed like a good machine.
