Long term drought for Texas- :-(

Good to hear you made it through with mostly some rain, which you needed. That moisture ought to get your place perked up a bit.

Saw some of the damage on the news. So far, there was one mobile home lifted over a county road in Mabank TX. I think it was. I imagine after daylight we will see allot more.

Hopefully other TBNers in the East fared as good .

You guys in Texas are suffering from drought and up here it wont quit raining. Over 15" of rain for the month of April here so far. Several twisters all around us with touch downs in the north part of the county. Last week a tornado caused over 40,000 to be without power, they finally got them back on line.

The high winds damaged our roof and our home looks like Ma & Pa Kettle's farm with all the buckets catching water. Can't get the roof fixed until it stops raining. When it rains it pours, literally.

Dozernut, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. 15" of rain is too much at any time.

Hasn't the weather just been crazy this year? Here in East Texas it seems as if the wind has been blowing at least 20 mph since November. Any precipitation we do get that wind just sucks it right back out of the ground.

I talked to a friend about 200 miles further south and he might like some of that rain of yours. His place is heavy, black clay (gumbo) and he says that he has to be careful driving around on the tractor in case one of the wheels drops in to a crack. OK, he's a Texan and prone to a little exaggeration but you can take it that things are pretty darned dry down there.

Sure wish I could send some of the rain I have been in since we left Texas 2 weeks ago. It has rained all but 2 days. They promised us no rain today. But it has already rained this morning. Maybe this afternoon or tomorrow I can get out and cut the lawn.

I'm going to mow my yard today and hope the rain forecast for Saturday night and Sunday happens, without high winds and hail!

I think we should pass the hat and see if we can collect enough to entice ronjhall to spend the night with each of us drought stricken Texans....I'll sure cook him up a big steak from one of my steers:thumbsup:

And for what it's worth, weather man say's these will be normal rain showers with little chance of severe weather. East Texas may even get better totals,but it didn't look like it would go to far South.

We're still waiting for some rain here in Baytown, just east of Houston. Around here, it seems like it's feast or famine. I'm hoping for a nice little tropical storm within the next month or two. No hurricanes please. Ike did it for me. Next time I'm leaving for a cat 3 storm.
