sharp101,

Some of those fittings look like water pipe fittings. Can you verify?

I have went thru and took most of the pipe fittings out. Will post pictures of the painted and completed splitter soon. Thanks

Ron, I used the Honda engine, 22 gpm pump and 4 x 24 inch cylinder off my old log splitter to build this one. If everything was new I would have about $3000 in it minus labor.Sounds like a lot but I get a whole lot of satisfaction from it.

as a rule I try to use long stroke cylinders for lift tables to create smoother movement and reduce leverage on the lift table. shorter strokes can cause wood-a-paults

I am using restrictor fittings for the lift table and the 4 way wedge. The restrictors have aprox. a 5/64" hole in them. If you used the table and the wedge constantly this would heat up the hydraulic oil but just using when you need them, everything works out ok.
