Log spliter qustion

I build a log spliter the way I wanted and I have 1 qustion. On the return line now it's a 1/2" I was thinking that's to restricted so I called for a price today on a 3/4" hyd. hose that was to hight so that got me
thinking black pipe3/4" would be much cheaper will I have any problems withit ?

For a return line black pipe would be acceptable. Do not used galvanized since the oil will eventually cause the galvanizing to flake off and contaminate the system.

Depending on how the splitter is made you may need something flexible between the valve and reservoir to absorb flexing and vibration.

You should be able to find low pressure 3/4” hose at a reasonable price.

Might look here... But my 22 ton splitter uses 1/2 inch hoses on pressure and 3/4 bulk onreturn sides....

Heck, i think most hydraulic lines on my tractor are only 1/2”.

For the return line you do not need hydraulic high pressure hose , only oil compatible hose.

Well I changed the line from 1/2" to 3/4" I bought a clear line and put it on and started the spliter and it spit fluid all over! .
I use hose clamps on each end I checked before starting the spliter I think I have to buy pex crimp rings and a better line.
