Hey people, in the middle of plowing snow, I lost control of the loader. The joystick became loose and floppy. I thought the block below the stick was the valve, and thought oil would go everywhere when I unscrewed the lines. Now I know about the cables from other posts here. 2 of the balls at the stick end line up with the cables, but the other one seems loose. Is that third ball just a pivot point, or what? I unscrewed the cable housings at the stick end, but I can't pull them away from the block. I'm guessing (hoping) that means the cables are not broken, nor have they come loose. I tried to go find the EX manual that people mention in the post I read, but it doesn't seem to be for the DK55C/551 loader combo. Is that loose 3rd ball an indication of a specific problem. By the way, here in mule deer country the 3rd ball indicates a buck-and-a-half. Har dee fricken har.

I have had the small bolt holding the "pivot post" fall out. This allows it to move up and down. It should stay fixed while the other two (attached to the cables) are moved by the joystick.

This seems to be a common problem on Kioti loaders and I'm sure that there are threads on TBN that go into more details about repairs and replacements.

My fix was just the simple job of replacing the missing bolt - but getting to it wasn't easy.

Sorry for the delay in responding - my internet speed is so cr*ppy that I usually only go online every couple of days.

Happy to return a favour for someone on TBN. I have had a couple of problems that turned out to be routine, and were solved by the helpful people on here.

It's a good idea to while you have it apart to lube the balls good. I used thread lock on that screw to keep it held tight.
