Your old chipper is working well for me. Anything hardwood that it can't handle goes in the woodstove. I got some hours on it last month, we had a power outage due to branches against the lines (according to PSNH). I spent the next weekend trimming, chipping & shredding. it worked great.
I could see one of these new ones for some pines that I'd like to get rid of though. I would need rear remotes though.

Good to hear. If you end with an LiTW, i'd love to check it out. You really need some rear remotes anyway........

I bought a used Bearcat 9" chipper, manual feed for 2200. ( with two sets of knives ) It wasn't used that much. Alot of work to hoist all the branches and sticks that high for gravity feed. I do like the large mouth, 185 # flywheel with four knives and the adjustible chute.
Bearcat wants about 3k for the hydraulic option. I think it can be converted for alot less. Depending on how much I use it I may consider the change. I also slid 2" tubing into the legs with 4" rollers so it rolls around easily in the shop. I believe it tips the scale at 900 #. My Allis D-15 handles it well.
The LiTW looks like a well engineered machine. The Jinma dealer in my area jacked the price to $2500. The other model from Canada was $3200. which I did like better but no hydraulic feed.

I looked at a Wallenstein, it is "self-feeding" the feed chute is angled into the cutter so material pulls in itself. Anybody use one? Not trying to thread drift like to compair to LiTW, Jinma.

I heard only good about the wallensteins. Everyone who owns one claims they self feed well without the hydraulic feed rollers....... just keep the blades sharp !
