LiTW Wood Chipper Purchase

I'm a cost driven consumer, and the Korean unit retails for twice the price of the Jinma. A few more bells and whistles, where's the value in that? Knock yourselfs out. bjr

I bought a used Bearcat 9" chipper, manual feed for 2200. ( with two sets of knives ) It wasn't used that much. Alot of work to hoist all the branches and sticks that high for gravity feed. I do like the large mouth, 185 # flywheel with four knives and the adjustible chute.
Bearcat wants about 3k for the hydraulic option. I think it can be converted for alot less. Depending on how much I use it I may consider the change. I also slid 2" tubing into the legs with 4" rollers so it rolls around easily in the shop. I believe it tips the scale at 900 #. My Allis D-15 handles it well.
The LiTW looks like a well engineered machine. The Jinma dealer in my area jacked the price to $2500. The other model from Canada was $3200. which I did like better but no hydraulic feed.

Can't help to comment on the feed roller and it's durability. I use a Vermeer 6"625 Chipper for my tree business. It works great for my jobs. What makes it work so well is the hydraulic feed roller. There is a speed control on it to adjust the feed rate for different types of wood and branches. Also it has a rpm sensor from the engine that slows or stops the feed roller when the engine is being slowed by large branches. Which is a great feature when hardwoods or knots slow it down. The roller itself has continous teeth across the drum instead of little teeth like shown on LiTW. If you are a good welder you can do hardness welding on the teeth to keep them from wearing down so quickly. My chipper has almost 1000 hours on it. The teeth still look great on the feed roller. Keep in mind to keep the knives sharp and the anvil adjusted properly. The chipper doesn't have to work so hard.

I was there yesterday picking up a Skid Steer adapter for my tractor and saw the LITW chippers. They look heftier than the Jinma's did.

Unfortunately, I'm a "burner" not a "chipper"!

They are going to retail right under 3K, we are running a special on a pre-buy special that will save about $ 500.00 . Ronald at Ranchhand is running the same special to get some of these in the field working.I don't think you can find a hydraulic feed 6" PTO chipper for these prices anywhere.The Jinmas are nice also,some like chevys some like cadillacs.If anyone is interested please e-mail or give us a call I only have a limited about left at the discounted price.
