You say your tractor is a "2000ford". Is 2000 the model or the year?
Check your oil level, to be sure it has enough oil in it.
You could check your battery voltage (with a voltmeter) while the engine is running. If you have less than 13 volts, the system is not charging.
I am assuming, from your question, that you don't have a manual for your tractor. You may be able to get one online. Even if you have to buy one, it would be worth the investment.
