Althought I still have not finished my AUX lighting project from last year I hav made one major improvement on my tractor lighting. I replaced the OEM bulbs in the head lights with some Sylvania Silver Star Ultras. What a difference. If you dont have the time or knowledge to add extra lighting, just replacing the stock bulbs will be a vast improvement. Ill be using the same bulbs on the AUX lights, if I ever get back to them.

The Silverstars are indeed very bright. I used them in an "03 GMC Sonoma. The only disadvantage was bulb-life. I replaced 5 bulbs in 81k miles. At 30 bucks a pair, it wasn't cheap. I don't know if off-road use (as in tractoring) would have an adverse effect, or not.

PS - Yes, I was extremely careful not to touch, breathe on, or otherwise sully the bulbs while installing...

Ive had the exact same problem with Silverstars. They give a very good light and are a major improvement over the stock Ford bulbs, but i dont get more then 20000Kms on a set. Ive thought about biting the bullet and going to PIAAS because i think they have a lifetime guarantee. It seems like im always blowing the low beams.
