I bought this unit at TractorTools Direct the manual is at this web site showing those measurements:Tractor Tools Direct | TS62 Hydraulic Offset Flail Mower

That's about as close to showing you the manual that I can get! Won't be able to actually use it for several weeks as it is currently at my Mahindra dealer where I had it shipped. Probably won't pick it up for at least several weeks since I'm currently in Florida.

You can download the 2 page specification sheet from the Del Morino web site.

Your offset flail mower is a Del Morino Centurian Super offset flail mower either a model 106, 132 or the 158
YOU need to find out which one from the tractor tools direct folks.

You also need to invest in front suitcase weights if you do not have them already.

The model 106 has a full offset width of 153 Centimeters with a cutting width of 110 Centimeters
The model 132 has a full offset width of 177 Centimeters with a cutting width of 120 Centimeters
The model 158 has a full offset width of 201 Centimeters with a cutting width of 130 Centimeters

I am disappointed in that they do not simply import the Del Morinos units and sell them as Del Morino flail mowers.

They take part of the information from the Del Morino Information and do not provide the customer with the required amount of information for their customers use.

They are not doing the customers any favors and if they have a comment about my statement prove me wrong.

well, I am now the owner of a flail mower got the Maschio 210SI. Very impressed with it, it chewed cypress knees even with the ground. When I was almost done, I found the soft spot beside one of the ponds with only about 100ft left to mow. My neighbor came over with his orange tractor and pulled me out  IMG_1912.JPG

What I have found to WORK is to use the slotted top link holes, then lower the unit with the 3 pt hitch until the top link pin rides somewhere close to the middle of the slots.
YES, the mower will be riding on the rear roller and YES it will be "pivoted" on the lower link arms as you drive over bumps and dips, i.e. it will follow the contours of the ground (approximately).
Adjust depth/height of cut with the rear roller, NOT as you mow with the 3 pt hitch.

If you go over a BIG hump in the ground the mower will tip back until the top link pin is at the front end of the slot and at some point the mower's rear roller will leave the ground, i.e. you will be "carrying" it.
Similarly in a deep dip the mower will tip forwards and the top link pin will be at the back of the slot - this is generally not good, since the top link will be in compression. If your ground has sharp dips you should probably add a chain link (or two) to the top link, to allow the mower to "fold up" with the tractor in dips.

Does your tractor have diff lock?

Seems like 4WD and diff lock would have pulled through that soft spot.

i do but the ground was like walking on a water bed on the right side of the tractor i was able to push back about 2ft back with the loader the mower was on the ground in the out position and could not get it to move back to behind the tractor and really didn't want to tear up the edge of the pond any more than i did

Welcome to the Flail Mower Nations.

Being a resident member of the Flail Mower Nations does not require passport or Tourist Visa to enter or exit the Flail Mower Nations through our beautiful beer garden entrance.

A membership roster for the Flail Mower Nations is not kept due to concerns over Men In Black or the Black Helicopter Squadrons that are known to run about the countryside to protect or members privacy and their flail mowers.

I am sorry to hear of the mud hole on your pond edge that loves to eat tractors, ours nearly snared a 1972 cub lowboy with the 4 cylinder engine and 6 foot mower deck and diamond rear turf tires. I was lucky that i was able to drive right out of the pond with it.

Gave up on finding a decent used flail mower. Today I bought a new std duty Mahindra rotary cutter. When my old 42 inch ZTR mower finally gives out, I will replace it with a 60 inch rear finish mower with rear discharge. No tractor dealer in this area carries flails, and all say they have never traded for a used one.

Leonz, They do import their factory direct model. There are two distributors, one foe the east and one for the west. I found mine at a distributor on the east and shipped to Indiana.

Their documentation is lacking, or should I say their translation skills. Italian to English should be simple. I'm afraid they may have used an old version google translate!

That's why I like the Chicomm stuff...they rarely furnish any documentation or instructions at all. That way, there's no confusion.

Indeed! Reading bad translations is like reading Craigslist ads. Huh? Insert head scratch here.

Well, yes, we do have a comment about your statement. All of the above information can be found in the specifications on the product page on our website: Tractor Tools Direct | TS62 Hydraulic Offset Flail Mower When you go there, you'll see that we DO sell them as Del Morino flail mowers. The change in naming is simply to convert centimeters to inches and to classify the size. Thus the Centurion 158 is renamed the T62 for the US market. It has a 62" cutting width. We provide all the information that Del Morino supplies us, including the owner's manual, and then add additional information, pictures, and video. It is all right there in the tabs on the listing page. Admittedly the manual is not great. A future goal is to rewrite these manuals in better english but this is a major undertaking. In the meantime they are better than many manuals you will find elsewhere. One thing that Del Morino does for us that you won't find elsewhere is that the hoses are a full 10 feet long, so you can connect directly to your front loader quick connects. This is super handy and means you don't need to have rear hydraulics. Thanks, Pat Goodwin, Owner, Tractor Tools Direct.

Pat its good you carry this quality product. However one dimension is missing in your data that is critical. Its the distance from the tractor CL to the mower pivot point on the mower head at full extension. To properly and safely mow a ditch bank you want the pivot to be beyond the tire sidewall so you don't need to get on the bank to mow. Can you provide that information for your customers. Im curious too. For my Bobcat tractor I had to get a unit with the outboard gear box to cut safely. I am guessing your at about 23" (E-C = 11 plus about 12" in to the pivot scaling your drawing) Thanks for being there.

Thanks for the question Keith. The distance from the center of the tractor to the articulation point on the mower is 33". Another way of saying this is that the mower extends 46" beyond the articulation point. This is with the three point hitch symmetrical to the tractor and the hitch pins in the middle position. You can get another 4 inches or so by adjusting to the right when you hook up the tractor.

Excellant. Your unit will work with a lot of compact tractors then, including mine with the fat GP tires. I suggest you add that to you web site information.
Thanks Keith

My dealer quoted prices for Landpride flail mowers yesterday. The FM 2172 was $4800 and the FM 3188 was $6800. IIRC the FM 3188 is a rebadged Maschio. The FM 2172 I'm not familiar with. Is this one of the new USA made Landpride flails? Usually with the Landpride model numbering system the smaller number means a somewhat lighter duty implement. Wonder if that is the case here?

A couple of things, If the flail mower you want has no trash rear door it is a Land Pride unit.
Don't buy it unless it has the trash ejection door as it will be much harder to deal with
heavy tall brush loads.

Don't place a deposit on it unless you see it personally or have a written guarantee it comes from Maschio
as you really want the trash door as it will help you with maintenance as well as dealing with heavy brush loads
as the rear trash door will eject the material with much less power with the trash door open.

Keep in mind the following
The only bad thing is that the Maschio units will not recut the material on a second pass where a flail mower with
side slicer knives will recut it to its smallest clipping and it will decompose much faster.

Check with A Vrisimo dealer to price a unit in the size you want to compare price for price.
I am not trying to spend your money I want you to have the best flail mower.

leonz - new European regulations required Maschio to stop producing the trash door option - all models as far as I know no longer have that option. Mine does not have it - first year of change (their web page said it did have it) So far no issue in heavy grass.

Learning of that change is disappointing for sure. Having the trash door allowed
everyone to mow tall crops like sunflowers and corn stalks that were picked
clean of whole corn cobs that would be stored in corn cribs to be fed later
to livestock.

It is really disappointing that this change was made as the trash door makes
it easier for a much smaller mule to mow heavy brush and with less work.

My thoughts anyway.

Notwithstanding Leonz's concern about mowing crop stalks, I have never felt the need for a trash door on my Caroni. I don't mow rows of tough corn stalks but I do mow pretty dense three and four foot grass and brush without issue. It just comes down to how fast you want to travel balanced with how fine a cut you want. For the fields where I am just trying to prevent brush invasion, I mow once a year in the fall when things are dry. No issue at all. Sometimes when I do a first cut in late Spring/early Summer the grasses are so lush that I do need to slow down but I would prefer to mulch the debris rather than eject it in lumps from a trash door anyways so lack of the trash door isn't a concern.
