Leonz:
Question about belts.
Numerous times you refer to green kevlar belts in this thread. Are you referring to single ribbed kevlar v-belts, or banded (2 ribs) v-belts?
I cannot find Kevlar v-belts in a banded b54/55 size anywhere.
Anyone have a source???
Is it OK to use two separate kevlar v-belts on a Ford 917 flail mower?

Thanks!

This is what I ordered for my 917 and it worked great. I've since sold the mower, but I used it heavily when I had it and the belt held up just fine.

When my Dad burned the Belt off the 917, I cheaped out and replaced it with two singles. AS I RECALL (and that was a long time ago) the individual belts did not last long, even with proper operation. The Double was the one to get. Fortunately, we had a Goodyear Warehouse and Manufacturing facility that I provided Security for and I got a great deal. That is sadly all gone these days replaced by tourism!

Thank you, Dave!:)

Yeah I also ordered new cutters for the Ford 918H today, thought it best to get them while the gettin was good. She gave me a HECK of a price and a month or so ago JD helped me out on bearing housings for the roller. Really great folks to deal with, sad to see them go.

Newest member of the flail nation. Caroni TM1900 bought used. Previous owner swapped out OEM knives for stamped duck foot blades. Don't know if I'll change back, but I'll kill these before I do anyway

Hello and good morning Michael in Tennessee,

I wish to welcome you as the newest resident member of the "Flail Mower Nations" from the Great State of Tennessee.

I see you have some of that fuzzy white mold on your lawn that occurs in the winter months eh? We have a lot of that stuff up north and it is usually gone by late april most years.

If you have a lot of brush to knock down you can do it pretty well now as all the brush has been winter killed and does not have a lot of moisture in it.

Happy Mowing,

Ya think I got the right attachment for the season? :)

It'll warm up again a few times prior to winter really setting in.

Obviously, I'm not gonna get this thing set-up in the next few days. Tomorrow will be colder than today, but late in the week we will back to high 50's, low 60's.

Without me reading a couple hundred pages, what is my best source for knives and other replacement parts? I'm re-reading the thread, but, of course, it will take a while. So far, I know the knives look good and the roller and scraper are still round and spin good. Fresh grease on the zerks.

Hello Michael,

The best place would be agrisupply for spare parts and knives.
