I have a MF 1246 loader on a 1240 tractor. The loader joystick control is leaking where the spools (i think there called) go into the face plate. Does anyone know where i can get parts and information on how to fix the leak. My local dealer has been no help. Said that parts were not available. Seams odd on such a tractor. Has anyone done a repair on this contol that could share some advice. Thanks.

It depends on the valve. Most hydraulic valves are honed to match the spool to the valve body. there are no seals or O-rings. There are often caps on the control end of the spool that has a dirt seal or wiper, but not designed to keep oil in. If you verified it is leaking around the spools, then not much you can do beside replace the valve. You can pull the valve and see if you can find a PN for a direct replacement, or check Surplus Center, they sell different valves.
