Leaf Vac/Chipper/Shreadder

Oh, our church in NJ had 5 acres with lots of oak trees. I took over the lawn mowing at one point (again) but told them I'd only do it if I could replace the Sears underbelly machines (and blower and trailer for those leaves) with a ZTR machine. We bought a Scag. Cut the mowing time in 1/2. For the leaves, I just ran the Scag discharging inward until it was about to bog down. Then reversed direction for a round or so. Never ever raked nor collected leaves again. Think Titus 42:12 says, "Thou shalt not collect leaves, for it a travesty of energy use."

Unless you're collecting the leaves for your garden or to put back on the lawn the next year, it doesn't make sense to collect leaves. Just chop them up a bit and leave them. That's what nature has as natural fertilization of trees. Trees in the forest receive no fertilization.
