We've a 20v one. Works great. Not Stihl.

Has a button to about double the speed if needed.

I have too much of an area to blow for battery powered even though they are very convenient, especially for the deck and steps . I need to blow an acre with many, many oak and maple trees . My old br420 still works just wondering if the new backpacks would make it easier . I can’t seem to push the piles far enough without have to blow manny many piles and then take em to a tarp and haul a 100 to two hundred feet .

Friend gave me a returned Oregon blower to use with my other Oregon battery stuff. I do like my 4 stroke Makita but use the Oregon more and more. Use it to clean off equipment after mowing. Tend to hold that TURBO button more and more. Sucks the battery down in a few minutes! But hey, it's enough to get the job done.

They make larger blowers than the 420. But not counting the extra quiet models, the same size and type of engine will blow about the same amount of air.

16 years ago the 420 was one of the larger models on the market . I should have asked , will the newer larger models out there be worth the cost while I already have a good operating blower .

When I purchased my BR series blower over 20 years ago it was one of the largest pro grade models available. I have a new Red Max blower, not the largest model. But definitely much bigger and more powerful than my old Stihl. The newer models perform much better than equipment from 20 years ago.

I’m interested in the br800 . Looks like a monster . It’s just that my 420 still runs fine but raking the acorns and dragging all the piles is getting to be more difficult each year. Hoping that this would help. Really don’t want to invest in a pull behind vac , lot of money and storage issues for only two months out of the year usage.

I bought the largest Husqvarna a few years ago and it is amazing. Even use it to clear snow up to 3" deep.

I would look at the specs to see if the new ones are any better. CFM and velocity should answer your question.

I’ve got a Redmax 8500 and apparently the echo 8101 is better. I used to have a Stihl 400. There’s a world of difference between them.

The new big blowers today are no comparison to the old industry standard br400. I personally like the husky 580/redmax 8500 but the br800 and echo 8010 are similar. All of them will feel like twice the power of the br400.

Thanks for everyone’s help . I’m going to spring for either the br800 or the echo pb80. On another note anyone have experience with the pull behind leaf vacuums? Not so much interest in vacuuming as I’m mowing , too many hills , trees and short corners and angles to deal with . I’m wondering if they are any good to use in picking up the monster leaf piles from the blower. I mentioned earlier that I wasn’t interested in them but I’m having second thoughts .
