Larger HST tractors?

I just spent a few hours in the field (golf course) with the JD4720
and one of the 2.4 liter Grand L40s. We wanted the 5740, but got
the 4740, which has the non-turbo engine and a few hundred #s
less weight. I gotta say that the HST-plus is the most impressive
HST I have yet tried. Esp like the Auto Throttle.

I have a question on Kubota's "Response Control", which I think works
the same as JD's "Load Match". I suspect these two systems use a
solenoid control to vary the position of the HST hydraulic motor's
swash plate and there are 2 fixed positions. Does anyone have good
info on how they work? NH has a system like that, but I do not know
what it is called.

Lots of them still in service as loader tractors.

I'm not sure of the age but i remember late 70's/early 80's the "IH HYDRO 84" they were a flop but a few were around i never used one but i presume it was a IH844 with a hydro...?
They were worth nothing quite new...?

Closer to 15 gpm if they have an updated pump. 12 was the majic number I believe on the factory pump.

Sometimes when looking at hydraulics I find that a smaller pump might do more then larger just do to the valves and other parasitic losses on the design.
