VERY NICE! appears to be a light granular snow, and if you get any wind in the wrong direction you are going to be very wet and cold /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif check into a cab for that sweetheart

Awesome picture. I couldn't tell if you had Ag tires or not. How well does the l5030 handle snow and ice compared to a 4wd truck with new snow tires? (Never been on snow or ice with the tractor ... yet). We usually get a foot or two (stop laughing) in NW Ark.

I've got R4s / Industrial tires. Funny you should ask about the traction. Before I realized there was a detent in the forward position of the FEL control which allows the blower to float I definitely had a problem. Either the blower was so low that it was lifting the front wheels practially off the ground and I had no traction whatsoever for steering, or the blower was too high and I was leaving a lot of snow on the ground that I was just passing over. Embarrasing, but once I found the float position I had no problems whatsoever with steering or traction. My feeling is that the L in 4WD has better traction than does my Suburban in 4WD. I drove up a pretty steep hill while blowing and never spun the tires once.

Re the cab - definite must to build or purchase something for next season...

Got any idea what ground speed (mph) you were making while blowing?

That's certainly is a nice setup you have there. I have the B2660 attached to a B2400.

What sort of chute do you have on that blower? I have the 60 inch model blower but the chute is much shorter and doesn't have the two piece deflector that yours has. I get a lot of snow blown at me because it's so short. Also, I'd like to get my chute to be a little higher so I can pass the snow over the mail boxes when I'm right next to them. I can load them real fast if I'm not careful. It'll knock over a full trash can too. I'd hate to get hit by that stream of snow!

It looks like the very top of your chute is almost as high as your chin while sitting in the seat. I'll bet the chute's sideways reach is significant as well.

Would it be too much trouble to ask you to measure the height of your chute and post a couple of close ups of it?

No problem. I'll take some shots of it tomorrow and post. A quick measurement shows the top of the chute to be 39 1/2" above the blower. The blower is also Kubota brand.

I agree, I gives a new meaning to the Polaris phrase, "The Way Out!" or "in" whichever. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

mnkub,
That is one nice tractor and snowblower setup you have! I agree that is Postcard material! With as much snow in the picture I can't imagine ANYONE up North NOT having a tracor and snowblower of some type.

I do have a question for you as we DO NOT have that much snow here in East Tennessee. When running the snowblower, "How Fast" are you moving. I have it envisioned that you are moving like baleing hay, but never seen anyone in real life doing it! Sorry if that seems like a dumb question, but with 2-3 inches at a time and melts away, I have never known or seen anyone snowblowing. I tried downloading a .wav file in another post, but I am on Dial-up and times out before it will load.

Thanks for the reply! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I never looked at the mph but I did spend most of my time in mid range (HST). I probably was at the slower end of this range mostly because I was watching the side of the driveway. Machine was capable of working at a brisk walk / slow jog.
