On a driveby I noticed a '04 3130 with a 5' Squealer and a set of front weights. Is the front end so light that the weights are needed on that model? Not for sure how many hours, but it's a small farm so I don't believe there could be a lot of hours, much less hard hours on it. The asking was $13000. Reasonable? Any advice or info would be appreciated!

All depends on the hours. Check the hours and let us know how many.

I run a 5' Squealer on my 3130. Before I had the FEL I never had a problem with the front end being too light.

I run a 5 foot woods rear bushog on my L3830 and I put 220lbs of front suitcase weights on the front bumper. The mower weighs in around 550lbs so I think the front ballast is useful. I think my tractor is more stable with the front ballast. The same holds true when you have the loader on - I always ballast the back with a weight box or implement. Just my .02

I have an 03 L3130 that was used with 5ft bushhog and 6ft finish mower. It never felt like extra weight was required. This is a very well put together tractor.
