Hello everyone I've found a 2004 L2800 with 64.5 hrs on the meter, stored inside no rust, has a few love blemishes on the loader arms and doesn't even have the paint worn out of the bucket I need ammunition to convince my wife that this is as good a deal as I think. $10,000 , 4x4 with loader

Landscaping to her choosings? A new retainer wall? More time with the family with the efficiency of the tractor? Because you want it?

It is indeed a decent deal. The investment now at this price is penny-wise. That is still a new machine for about $5000 less all for 64 hours.

Write the check and tell her you had to do it.

Well I'm the proud owner of the above tractor, and pleased as can be , already bushhogged some, moved a little dirt and box bladed the driveway. everything works fine, no complaints.

Wow.. thats an awesome deal! I am the owner of a close cousin to your tractor. I've got an L3400 which I have been very pleased with. 60 some hours is next to nothing!

I would recommend that you ensure that either the 50 hr service was done or get it done right away.

Which transmission does your 2800 have?
My son has one with the hydrostatic transmission. It's a really nice tractor. The hst needs to be handled a little differently, but once you get the hang of it, it's a sweet machine, with a lot of power and maneuverability for the money.

You will enjoy it.

I can't believe you are actually replacing a 600 though. I have used both a 600 series, Jubilee, an 820, 2000, 3910 and a couple of 8N's over the years. Not all of them were mine, but used them extensively at different times. The old Ford tractors were built like tanks. With minimal maintenance, they last forever.

It is a gear drive, and not really replacing the 600, just going to semi retire it, it still has a home and always will, too darn dependable to get rid of. 50 hr service done with no problems except the hyd filter is a bear to find, WIX didn't have a cross # so I ordered a filter and had it shipped, it was just as cheap to order it vs picking it up at the dealer, and the dealer only had 1 in stock with a broken magnet on it.

My L2800 4WD, Loader, Box Blade, Shredder deal ($14,500) was just paid off a month ago (36 months) and I still love my tractor. Have bought a Bonnet, Kuhn tiller, TS PHD, Subsoiler, Landscape Rake and a toolbar with Hipper/Cultivators since then. It is a real workhorse considering the size.

Now, I want a backhoe for it.

chuckhole - great to hear. Will be nice when mine is paid off. Unlike a car one can fortunately expect a tractor to last much much longer than it takes to pay the loan on

Out of interest, how many hours do you have on it and how has it been reliability wise? How long have you been using the tiller with it?

Reliability has been great. Gotta watch out for tree limbs snagging stuff on your tractor besides your hat and glasses. The tachometer is still not quite right. I did manage to repair the flat tires. The valve stem gets pushed back into the wheel on the front tires and it goes flat. Keep a supply of spare valve stems handy if you use the Front Loader a lot.

The tiller is a 59" one so it really tests the PTO. Our garden is 1/4 acre and this is the third year we have used it. Our soil is not good so it gets a lot of work amending in 7-8 tons of compost each season. The Kuhn tiller ($1800) is a really nice piece of machinery. Well made and a perfect match for the Kubota. The drive shaft on it is clutch driven instead of using a shear pin. That is a sign of quality and allows me to use a full width tiller without the worries.

We are weekend warriors since we live in Houston and our place is 130 miles north of there. I think that I have about 120 hours on the tractor (Anna Belle). My mistress has to have a name. BTW. We also own a Kubota RTV 900 (named Junior - wife's boyfriend). What a fantastic piece of machinery.
