L2650 start relay

My stater relay behind dash shows continuity across output when coil is not energized. Would think that should be open

I would expect it to be open when not energized, too. Does this mean your starter runs all the time when the key is on? That would not be good. Does everything else work properly?

Relay coils should all read continuity. They are coils of wire that produce electromagnetic force when current flows.

I believe he’s talking about the contacts, not cool continuity.
