Tractor
Kubota BX25
Owner thinks it is a 1996 (Kubota's prior models page has the introduction year as 1997). Kubota FEL, rear blade. 450 hours, starts fine, 4WD. Hydrolics work, no problems. Tires look to be original, tractor in good shape. He paid $10,000 in about 2001. Asking price is $9k, says he put only 125 hours on. Seems steep. What do you recommend I offer for it?

If it's clean with low hours it may be worth what he is asking. There was a L2500 on eBay recently that looked clean and had 350 hours. It got several bids and ended just under $9k.

I had one of those, bought used in excellent condition. A nice but ultra
basic tractor. It has a very primitive tranny with only 2 reverse gears and
no shuttle or synchros. You can only mount from the left and very small
driver's space. That is a fair price in well cared-for condition, IMO.

I had a 1999 L2500 that I bought new and had a Kubota loader added to it about 6 months later. I traded it in Nov. 2007 with 830 hours and got $8500.

I realized I never replied to your message! Here is a belated thanks for your post. A lot of life has passed by since then. We ended up buying a new BX25 in ~2011 and have used it ever since.

Moved here 2011 and needed a compact tractor. Local dealer sold me a well used B1700 HST with loader and a new tiller. Under 500 hrs, paid $7000, and never have spent my money better. It has performed flawlessly, now has about 1000 hrs, and only replaced parts that have worn out from age. -36c deg., pkugged in for a couple of hrs, starts every time, has become my best friend! The only complaint is power, but it is what it is!
