Have an opportunity to buy a L1500 with bush hog and box blade for $1000. Tractor runs and pto and hydraulics work. Only problems are a single gear on the pto and transmission are stripped out. Gonna be used mostly for a deer lease maybe a little around the house. Would it be worth the money in your opinion?

The L1500 is a grey market L175 in the early days of Kubota, but the gears should be similar. You will not get much from a dealer as far as parts help - better to get the L175 manual and order parts if you intend to fix it. This should have the 2 speed PTO hi/lo and also a 4speed tranny with a hi/lo so 8 speeds total.

If you can run this in the "other" gears and the bush hog PTO and is 2WD @ $1000 its not a bad deal, if its a 4WD its worth a little more and a much better deal.

A little work and you could have a $2K tractor.
