An old 8n would pull my old
L3200 or a new
L3901 all over the place in a tug of war or plowing competition. When you start pulling, you essentially start popping a wheely to some degree & unload the front axle a lot. Lots of weight on those rears beats front wheel assist when pulling & plowing. The Kubotas are more maneuverable & WAY WAY more maneuverable & capable with a load on the loader than the 8ns though.
Tractors (really SCUT & CUTS) are less & less designed for pulling a plow or pulling in general. They are more likely to run a loader or pull a mower or do any number of utility tasks, so they have evolved to fit that modern need. They can still pull a plow, or more likely a box blade, but they are designed for more varied uses than the iron of old.
I can't say for sure as I haven't seen one, but you could get a
L3200 in 2wd. Id assume it just lacked the transfer case & driven front axle compared to the MUCH MUCH more common front wheel assist ones. I bet a 2wd
L3200 would probably pull surprisingly comparable to one with a powered front axle. But it wouldn't do diddly for running a loader.
