kubota 121-3
purchased a used 121-3. prior owner replace drive sprockets, rubber tracks and idler wheels. I have used it over 40 hours and love it, but I have popped a track off more than once. I am working in very rocky mountain soil and small rocks are always trying to get in there. THe track tension is according to owners manual. When driving on flat ground, tracks are quiet, when on a slope, front teeth make plenty of noise.

If you are running the tracks to tight or to loose is about the only time they might be real loud but there will be some noise.

We have found out that when working in building demo or in areas like yours it is best to run the steel tracks! The stones may bend a pad if caught just right but rare but unlike rubber they don't get cut!

The steel track conversion is quite reasonably priced right through Kubota dealers.

Its common, i ran my 121-3 for 5 years and had the tracks pop 3 times. I say its common because everytime it was a stone that lodged abd acted like a shoehorn during a hard turn. So if you have lots of rock I can see it happening. Check the driveline for bends to be doubly sure, otherwise run the tracks tighter and adjust your operation. Use the boom to lift and steer with minimal use of track power for tight turns.

I have a Cat 305 and am in process of switching from rubber to steel for rocky terrain, Cat has track guards to use, so as to prevent what is happening with your tracks. Perhaps Kubota has the same thing.

Rubber tracks definately pop off. I suggested this in another forum and a TBN "expert" called me a crackpot, but they do come off. Usually at the worst time!

As in friday about 4:45 on the side of a hill 150 feet from your trailer.
