kubota vs. Kioti?

Buy what you like. Northern tools also sells tractors. I bought what I wanted, which was about 2 thousand more than a DK45, because I planned on owning it for decades. I didn't even know about the 2 speed rear hydraulic motor on the GL line. Once I got a chance to use it and realized that being able to drive into a pile of dirt and with a flick of a lever it was just like shifting down a gear to get more pushing power without having to lift off of the HST pedal I was sold.

But that's me. My neighbor comes up with his Kubota MX5000 to skid logs. It's a gear tractor and I watch him shift and deal with a clutch, he wanted gear and is happy with it. I wouldn't tell him that he should have got HST+ nor would I tell anyone here. If you're happy with your LS or Kioti then I am happy for you, really, I am. I didn't buy my tractor to impress anyone other than me and I expect none of you did either.

I will correct someone when they say something line "6 speeds is too many". Clearly you have never operated the HST+ system. You have 3 gears you can select, like any HST tractor (or only two gears on some models). The HST+ gives you a high and low speed for each gear. About 95% of the time you either shift gear or think about shifting in a standard HST tractor on a HST+ equipped tractor you wouldn't have to even slow down or shift. It's as simple as flashing your high beams on a car. What it means is the middle gear can do almost every task. What that's worth is different for every person. To me it's now priceless. I would not own a HST tractor without the feature.

This Qh is Cat 3.

This one looks the same as a old imatch.

By the way I was just joking about not being able to get a FEL or a 3PH on a zero turn.
I don't take the internet to heart. Both hitches are in the JD catalog and I wanted to know the difference. You know?

No.
Weird ain't it?

You were not much help then either.

Here is part of it. Maybe you asked me in a thread and I PMed you.

That is a excellent price, How tall is the cab from ground?

Give the complete quote, the price part was about the hitch compared to a land pride one. I guess it really doesn't matter much anyway. So Roger, How much did you pay for your cab machine? There How's that?

These threads never seem to end well....

In my opinion, both are very good quality and I can't tell any difference in workmanship.
lol, boy, you sure hit the nail right on the head regarding where this thread went!

Interesting... The original poster of this thread hasn't responded. Perhaps he was just a troll trying to get his jollies off the argument?

I noticed that too.

I noticed that too.

I was a Kubota dealer for 23 years. Also at the same time i also sold Kioti tractors, talk about pissing off Kubota, WOW. The Kioti tractor hands down is the better choice, they usually weigh more and are more durable. As for quality, i was always doing warranty work on Kubotas, hardly ever had a warranty claim on Kioti. I am retired now and enjoying it. Way too many people buy on the name only, and not on the better product. Just my two cents here.

Wow! That's going to make some people (not me) upset!

So you're saying that the company that sells 10 times as many SCUTs and CUTs are more likely to be at dealers getting worked on. That's kind of obvious isn't it?

I think what he's saying is that he believes that Kubota has "cheapened" their current offerings to the public over some of their previous models.

That's not what he said, at all. He only mentioned his own dealership, not the market as a whole.

As a dealer, he would have an idea of how many he sold of each, and he said he almost never had warranty claims on Kiotis, and had lots on Kubotas. Unless he sold hardly any Kiotis, that makes things pretty clear.

I wonder why Bobcat quit selling tractors:scratchchin:

If you read his prior posts, I wonder if there is much base his statement. I've sold more then just Kubota and yanmars through lines like case and cub cadet. There are differences! I don't care what brand it is but there are some tractors that are built today that are the same as they were twenty plus years ago just a different label and color. There are others that have made changes and have had positive influences on other brands. Kubota was not the first with the external hitch lift cylinders and they are a plus! We don't have to remove the rear end top covers to fix the lift or have to replace the top cover when the cylinders inside get scored. Not a happy face on a customer when you show them the price of the top cover no matter what brand it is!

My first Kubota was a L245 from the late 70s'. My newest is a L3800, 2011.

The old one I could not kill and wore out three 5' cutters and a box blade with it.

My newest one is a better built machine than the old one.

Oh and were the heck did the OP go?

/ kubota vs. Kioti? #140
I can't believe I didn't find this thread until now. The OP is my brother and I had told him to get on some tractor forums and ask around as his mechanic told him his old Case needs a fair amount of fixing up at this point. I'm glad too. Not because of any brand issues, but because even though his tractor's rear wheels must be 8' apart, it doesn't have ROPS, and as stated, he's my brother . That thing is a beast though.

We end up using my tractor on his property a fair amount and it does everything just fine on his and my property, but I've recommended that he look at larger tractors than mine since he's got 4X more property than me. If I had his property, I'd be wanting the MX or similar size in other brands.

I love my L3800, but I know Kioti makes a good machine too and have read that they offer more features for less $, so I told him to ask around. Personally, I don't think he needs a TLB at all, but that's his money and decision.

I didn't give enough thought to Kioti when I was looking. No slam on my machine. I love it and it does more than I ever dreamed, but I do wish I had extra remotes, etc. We have really good Kubota dealer. Kioti dealer is small time and that worried me a little knowing nothing about them when I bought mine, but he has been in business for a very long time selling other makes. Our NH, Mahindra and Deere dealers are not the best or friendliest and they all like their machines an awful lot. (I did too, but didn't like how much higher $ they all were).

Primary chores will be food plotting, bush hogging, trail maintenance, taking back some woods and working into new food plots, drainage work/levelling, etc., and whatever other schemes he has that he hasn't told me about yet.

I think he needs to look at something that will be heavier than mine, able to handle 6' or better PTO implements, larger BB, larger loader, etc.
